Pokemon is a series of Japanese Role Playing Games, of the "Monster Tamer" subgenre. The games are released in "sets" consisting of multiple versions
of what is effectively the same game with minor alterations (typically to
locations, story events, or
avaliable Pokemon), and those sets are further
divided into generations, which start and end when new Pokemon are added. This page will not contain any information relevant to generations after 5, because
I do not like them.
